STARS PLAYERS HIT THE BEACH FOR NASSC TOURNAMENT JUNE 10-12

TACOMA, WA.- Several members of the Tacoma Stars will be among over 11,000 players hitting the sand in Virginia Beach, VA for the 28th North American Sand Soccer Championship (NASSC). The Championships, which has a festival feel with live music and spectators spread over a mile and a half of white-sand beach property. The event takes place June 10-12.

80 different brackets will be in play for skills ranging from beginner to professional in games that average 60 shots on goal. Many past and present members of the Stars have FIFA World Cup Beach Soccer experience and Nick Perera is the USMNT captain. Perera highlighted the benefits of the off-season activity with teammates but certainly has his eyes on winning.

“Participating in the Virginia Beach Sand Soccer tournament with the Stars is another way for us to keep our group together, keep the guys engaged on staying active in the offseason and engaged in a high-level competition. We participated in 2019 and feel we should have brought home 1st, so we want to go back to win the Cup this time,” he said.

Joining Perera in the NASSC will be Alessandro Canale, Danny Waltman, Fellipe Souza, and Cory Keitz from the Stars’ roster.
