2024-25 Media Guidelines
MEDIA CREDENTIALS: 2024-25 Tacoma Stars credentials will be issued to accredited members of the media. To request credentials, email Director of Communications Pete Richmire: pete@tacomastars.com, (253) 278-0035. All credential requests should be made at least 48 hours in advance of the game you wish to attend.
MEDIA CREDENTIAL PICKUP: Media members may pick up credentials at the ShoWare Center Pass Gate on day of game. Any special pickup requests should be sent via email to pete@tacomastars.com
PARKING: Parking at the ShoWare center is free. The Stars request that media park in the east lot and walk across the ShoWare Plaza (located on the south end of the arena off James St.) to enter the facility through the Pass Gate. The west lot is reserved for suite and club ticket holders.
ENTERING THE SHOWARE CENTER: For all Tacoma Stars home games media should enter the ShoWare Center through the Pass Gate, located in the southwest corner of the building. A sandwich board outside will mark the Pass Gate for easy identification. The Pass Gate opens two and a half hours prior to the start of the game (e.g. for a game scheduled to kick off at 7:35 p.m. the Pass Gate will open at 5:00 p.m.).
PRESS BOX: The press box is located in the northwest corner of the ShoWare Center, directly above section 113. Upon entering the Pass Gate, head up the stairs located to the right. At the top of the stairs proceed down the suite hallway all the way to the end. The press box will be marked with a “Media” sign outside the proper door. The press box opens two and a half hours prior to the start of the game (e.g. for a game scheduled to kick off at 7:35 p.m. the pass gate will open at 5:00 p.m.).
PLAYER/COACH AVAILABILITY: Tacoma Stars players and coaches will be made available for interviews following the conclusion of the game on the field. Arrangements for interviews outside of these times can be scheduled via email at pete@tacomastars.com.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Photographers working for an accredited media outlet are permitted to shoot from anywhere in the seating bowl, club lounge, and end zone party deck, provided they don’t obstruct the view of any fans. Shooting from stairways and ADA sections is not permitted. Access to shoot from between the player benches must be approved by Director of Communications Pete Richmire prior to the game.
AUTOGRAPH POLICY: Under no circumstances are credentialed media members permitted to seek autographs from any member of the Tacoma Stars roster or coaching staff. Violation of this policy will result in the dismissal of the media member from the ShoWare Center and confiscation of the violator’s credential.
