STARS AND GALAXY SET FOR SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER

TACOMA, WA. – As the USL League Two and USL W Leagues cross the midpoint of their respective seasons, the Tacoma Stars and Tacoma Galaxy are set for a doubleheader this Saturday, June 14 at Bellarmine Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 1 pm for a full day of elite-level soccer.

The Galaxy have just a pair of home games left and will face off against the West Seattle Rhodies FC at 2 pm. West Seattle (2-1-2) is new to the USL W League’s Northwest division and currently sits in third place, one out of the playoff picture. The Galaxy has struggled of late and now occupies the 5th place spot with a record of 1-4-1. The two teams met on June 8 at West Seattle with the Rhodies walking away with a 6-0 win.

In the doubleheader nightcap, the Tacoma Stars return to action for the first time since May 31 when they battle FC Olympia at 7 pm.

The Stars (1-1-2) have been off for two weeks with many of the players away in Cary, NC for the TST, and hold two games in hand over most of the division. They are currently in 4th place in the Northwest division behind Ballard FC, Snohomish United, and Lane United FC, teams they will face four more times this season.

Saturday’s game welcomes FC Olympia (1-4-1) who are near the bottom of the table in 8th place.

Tickets for the doubleheader are $15 in advance at www.tacomastars.com or $20 at the gate on game day. The forecast looks perfect so bring the entire family out to Bellarmine Memorial Stadium for a great day of fun.

Bellarmine Memorial Stadium is located at 2300 S. Washington Street, Tacoma, WA. 98405.
