by Brett Gleason

ALLEN, Texas. -- Defender Adam West knocked in a last-minute goal to propel the Tacoma Stars (8-5) to a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Sidekicks (7-6) on Thursday night.

West’s game-winning goal was his second of the night, giving him his second brace of the season. Tacoma goalkeeper Danny Waltman recorded 28 saves on 30 shots, his second highest save total of the year.

West and defender Chase Hanson both netted first half goals for Tacoma to give them a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The Tacoma defense held the Sidekicks to only eight shots on goal in the first half, with Waltman tallying eight saves.

Dallas broke through for singular goals in the third and fourth quarter, the first of which came off a Sidekicks power play six minutes into the second half.

With just 44 seconds remaining in regulation, West drove a goal assisted by forward Dan Antoniuk by Dallas goalkeeper Juan Gamboa to give the Stars a road divisional win. The victory gave the Stars a 2-1 regular season series victory over the Sidekicks.

The Stars return home for the first part of a three-game homestand when they host the Cedar Rapids Rampage on Friday, Jan. 22 at 7:35 p.m. PT.
