WELCOME BACK ALESSANDRO CANALE!

by Pete Richmire

TACOMA, WA. –  The Tacoma Stars have announced forward Alessandro Canale has re-signed with the team after missing last season. This will be Canale’s fourth season with the Stars and per league and team policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Canale, a native of Venice, California, joined the Stars at the start of the 2019-20 campaign and appeared in 18 games with 14 points (5G-9A) during his rookie season. In all, he has played in 37 games while averaging a point-per-game on 22 goals and 15 assists.

Last season, the Stars had three players averaging a point or more per game and General Manager Nick Perera placed importance on adding another scoring threat to the club.

“Bringing Alessandro back to the Pacific Northwest was a priority for the club this offseason. He’s a very unique player in that he has incredible technical ability and a powerful attacking presence. We are looking forward to seeing him shine with the Stars this season,” Perera said.

For his part, Canale is ready to make his return in front of the fans at the accesso ShoWare Center on December 9 when the Stars host the San Diego Sockers on Opening Night at 7:05 pm.

Canale said, “It feels amazing to be back in Tacoma. It’s great to be back with the boys and it feels like I didn’t even take a little time off. It’s great to be back in training and I’m looking forward to seeing what the season has in store for us and try to do my best to help the team out as much as I can.”
