WALTMAN AND WEST NAMED TO MASL WEEK 4 TEAM OF THE WEEK

by Pete Richmire

TACOMA, WA – The Tacoma Stars (4-1) began a four-game road trip with a pair of wins over Major Arena Soccer League Pacific Division opponents San Diego Sockers and Ontario Fury. The impressive wins, including the first ever in the Sockers home building landed goal keeper Danny Waltman and defenseman Adam West on the MASL Week 4 Team of the Week.

Waltman was huge in goal for the Stars as he faced a barrage of shots in San Diego. At the end of the game he tallied 16 saves and only allowed four goals on 26 total shots faced. He also picked up an assist on his way to being named the First Star of the Game. The next night in Ontario, Waltman stopped another 16 shots in the 6-3 win over the Fury.

For Adam West, it was a pair of game-winning goals and leading the team in goals scored which helped him receive the League’s weekly honor. His goal, the second of the game for West, with 2:23 left to play in San Diego sealed the team’s historic victory. The next night in Ontario West picked up a pair of goals and now sits tied for second on the team in goals scored.
