TACOMA STARS WEEK 15 PREVIEW

TACOMA, WA. – The Tacoma Stars (8-9) and the Turlock Express (2-15) will meet for a home and home series this weekend beginning in Turlock on Friday March 8. The two teams last met in California on February 22 with the Stars coming away with the 6-4 win. The first time the teams squared off was on Opening Night, December 1 with Tacoma blowing out the Express 12-2 in Kent.

In the last meeting, Omar Tapia found success against Tacoma as he netted a hat-trick and leads the Express in goals scored for his team against the Stars. He also tops the team in overall scoring with 23 points this season (14G-9A). Despite being second on his squad in scoring with 16 points, Jorge Carmona has yet to tally a point against Tacoma. Carlos Manzo and Matthew Germain each have 13 points for Turlock this season.

For Tacoma, it is Nick Perera who leads the team vs Turlock with 12 points in two meetings (4G-8A). Philip Lund has three goals against the Express and overall, 10 different players have scored a goal against Turlock for the Stars.

Perera also leads the MASL in scoring with 53 points (23G-30A). Mike Ramos is second on the team in offensive production with 24 points (13G-11A). Philip Lund sits third with 19 points (13G-6A) and Joey Gjertsen is fourth with 16 points (9G-7A).

The two teams will finish their home and home series on Sunday at the accesso ShoWare Center with a 5:05 pm kick off. The final season series match up will take place on April 12 at Turlock Indoor Soccer.

The Stars are on the road this Friday March 8 in Turlock for the front end of a home and home series. Kick off is scheduled for 7:05 pm and you can catch all the action on MASL.tv.

Mascots from all around the Sound will be battling it out during halftime on March 10 in the Tacoma Stars Seattle vs Tacoma Mascot Game. Be sure to get there early as Seahawks legend Marcus Trufant will be on hand for the game’s ceremonial first kick.

The Stars’ final regular season home game comes on Sunday March 31 against Landon Donovan and the Pacific Division leading San Diego Sockers. It’s Fan Appreciation Night as the Stars thank the best fans in the M.A.S.L.
