TACOMA STARS TRAVEL TO TEXAS AND MEXICO FOR TWO GAMES

Tacoma, WA – The Tacoma Stars (6-7) hit the road this weekend to face two Southwest division foes. The Stars kick off the back to back weekend road trip Saturday in Texas when they take on the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas (2-11).

Sunday Tacoma invades Mexico to battle the last unbeaten team in the MASL this season, the Monterrey Flash (12-0). It will be the Stars’ only trip to the home arena of these two teams.

It is a big weekend for Tacoma as they chase the Ontario Fury (7-6) and San Diego (10-1) for a playoff spot from the Pacific Division. The Stars have momentum coming into the weekend having won four of their last five games and adding to the offense with the acquisition of Taylor Walter Bond via trade from Cedar Rapids. Bonds will make his Stars debut in Rio Grande Valley.

Sunday, Tacoma will face a rested Monterrey as the Flash have not played since January 14. Monterrey is the last remaining unbeaten team in the MASL this season and posted 14 goals in their last match, a win over Milwaukee. That was the fourth game this season in which the Flash have scored 10 goals or more.

The Stars will return home on Friday February 2 to host the El Paso Coyotes. It will be the first opportunity for Tacoma fans to welcome Bond.
