TACOMA, WA. –  The Tacoma Stars are proud to announce two new organizational hires: a new Head Coach for the Tacoma Stars Reserves program and the introduction of a Director of Coaching & Player Development for the Tacoma Stars Reserves & Tacoma Galaxy programs.

Mark Lee has been named as the new Head Coach for the Tacoma Stars Reserves program. Lee, who spent five seasons with the Stars at the MASL level along with many more with the Sounders U-23 and Stars Reserves squads, takes over a team with a rich history including several WISL Championships and a National title.

Lee’s appointment was announced by Tacoma Stars captain Alex Caceres, who has been promoted to Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Stars Reserves and women’s Tacoma Galaxy team.

Caceres, on taking on his new role with the Reserves and Galaxy said, “I’m here to help the club, the city, and players become better humans and players. I am always happy to get the opportunity to spread my knowledge and soccer experience with them.”

The 2026-27 season will be a fun one for the fans and players. Caceres added, “It’s going to be an exciting season with a lot of new talent coming into both programs.”

Stars’ General Manager, Nick Perera, likes the direction the WISL teams are headed: “The Stars program is in good hands with Alex Caceres and Mark Lee. Both have been around this organization and community for a long time. They have committed time, effort, and energy to representing themselves and the Club positively over the years and I know we all look forward to seeing what their leadership will do for the Stars and Galaxy programs.”
