by Pete Richmire

SAN DIEGO, CA - The Tacoma Stars entered the night on a seven-game win streak and used three-point nights from Jamael Cox (1G-2A) and a hat trick from Mike Ramos to score four fourth quarter goals and beat the Sockers 8-6 in the final regular-season game played at Pechanga Arena, extending the streak to a franchise-best eight wins.

Cox's goal to tie the game at 6-6 with 2:49 in the fourth quarter was his 100th MASL career goal which was the first of three straight to close out scoring and give goalkeeper Chris Toth his 100th MASL career win. Those would not be the only milestones hit by Tacoma players as Ramos' second goal of the night was his 200th  MASL career point.

With the win, the Stars tied the Chihuahua Savage for the longest win streak in the Western Conference this season, and have an opportunity to make it nine-straight tomorrow at Empire.

On the topic of Empire, two players legally on loan from the Strykers, Stefan Mijatovic (0G-2A) and Justin Stinson (2G-0A) combined for four points in the win.

Tacoma will wrap up their regular-season schedule at Toyota Arena tomorrow at 4 pm before hosting the Chihuahua Savage at the accesso ShoWare Center on Friday, April 5 to open the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs.
