Stars Set To Host Military Appreciation Night
TACOMA, Wash. -- The Tacoma Stars, in partnership with BECU, will host Military Appreciation Night during their home game against the San Diego Sockers this Sunday, Jan. 3 at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.
BECU and the Stars have combined to donate 750 tickets for the match, 250 of which will be available free of charge for active or retired military members and a guest when showing valid military ID at the ShoWare Center box office.
As selected by BECU, the remainder of the donated tickets will be distributed among the 627th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 62nd Airlift Wing, 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, United Service Organizations, Wounded Warrior Project, and OARS.
Stars players will sport special edition kits adorned with a red, white, and blue color scheme - goalies will be clad in black camouflage kits. All game worn jerseys will be available during an in-game silent auction, with 100 percent of the profit going to benefit OARS, Outreach and Resource Services for women veterans.
Prior to first kick, the Stars and BECU play host to the first annual Army vs. Navy soccer match at the ShoWare Center, including a trophy presentation for the winner during the Stars game later that day.
Rounding out Military Appreciation Night festivities will be a first kick presented by the Wounded Warrior Project, a full color guard to accompany the national anthem, and select military members escorting Stars players onto the field.
