STARS ROLL OVER EL PASO 11-6

KENT, WA. – The Tacoma Stars (8-9) fell behind the El Paso Coyotes (3-13) by four goals early but came back with ten straight goals en route to a convincing 11-6 win on Friday night. Nick Perera and Mike Ramos each recorded hat-tricks for the Stars in the victory.

It was four straight goals for El Paso to look like they would have an easy time at the accesso ShoWare Center. Diego Salas recorded two of them and Hector Estupinan and Hugo Puentes picked up one each to have the Coyotes up 4-0 with 14:13 left in the first half. Back to back goals by Ramos cut the lead in half with 4:15 on the clock. Joey Gjertsen knocked one in just over a minute later and Perera leveled the match with 24.9 seconds left in the half.

The Stars owned the third quarter with six straight goals beginning with Raphael Cox. Dan Antoniuk put the Stars up by two with 11:00 remaining in the third. Perera, with a power play goal made it 7-4 and Ramos scored less than a minute later to give the Stars a comfortable lead. Gjertsen and Perera added goals in the third to have the Coyotes trailing 10-4 with 4:35 left in the quarter. Arturo Vega snapped the Stars scoring streak with 34.2 second left to bring El Paso within five at 10-5.

Eduardo Cisneros opened scoring for El Paso in the fourth just 34 seconds into the quarter. Sam Zisette answered for Tacoma to get to the 11-5 final. With the win, the Stars take the season series from El Paso two games to one.
