STARS RETURN HOME FRIDAY TO HOST EL PASO

Tacoma, WA- The Tacoma Stars (7-9) return home to the Accesso ShoWare Center after a three-game Southwest division road trip to face another Texas foe, the El Paso Coyotes (7-8) Friday at 7:35 pm. This is the first meeting in league history between the two teams.

The Stars are looking to snap a two-game loss streak, including an 8-7 overtime defeat in Sonora, to remain within reach of Ontario for the second playoff spot in the Pacific division. El Paso also comes into the match looking to turn things around, winners of just two of their last eight games.

Tacoma’s offense should be bolstered by the return of leading scorer Nick Perera (16 goals, 8 assists) who did not appear in the team’s last game. Taylor Walter Bond, Raphael Cox, and Philip Lund also have more than 10 goals on the year for the Stars. They accompany a strong team defense and Danny Waltman in goal who is currently in the league’s top five in wins (7) and goals against average (5.62).

El Paso is paced offensively by Christian Gutierrez and Hugo Puentes, with 29 and 28 points respectively. In goal, the Coyotes top keeper is Eduardo Arevalo with a 2-3 record and 7.20 goals against average.

The Endzone Party Deck is back! Join us this Friday in the zone and receive a Tacoma Stars trucker hat, water bottle, all-inclusive buffet including beer, soda, and water for only $42 plus fees.

The Stars finish the regular season with four out of their final six matches at home. Next up will be the San Diego Sockers next Friday February 9 at 7:35 pm.
