STARS RESERVES HOME OPENER THIS SATURDAY AT 7 PM

TACOMA, WA. – The Tacoma Stars Reserves (1-0-0) will continue their WISL title defense on Saturday at the Tacoma Soccer Center as they welcome expansion Everett City (1-0-0) at 7:00 pm. Both teams beat Bellingham United for their first wins of the young season.

Everett City topped the visiting Bellingham United squad 6-5 on November 5 and the Stars Reserves outscored Bellingham United 10-6 at the Bellingham Sportsplex last Saturday. Along with the Oly Town Artesians, Everett City and the Stars Reserves remain the only unbeaten teams in the WISL after two weeks of play.

In their win, the Stars Reserves were powered by a pair of hat-tricks by Felipe Souza and Gil De La Cruz. Ray Mouloungui, the second overall pick in the 2022 MASL Draft, also scored for the Stars Reserves. Eddie Na, Roman Ramirez-Surez, and Isidro Prado-Huerta are the other goal-scorers after one game.

Everett City comes in led offensively by Christiano Walker’s two goals.

Saturday is Opening Night for the Stars Reserves coach Adam Becker is looking forward to introducing his young team to the fans.

“Saturday night we kick off our first home game of the 2022-23 WISL season. I’m excited to showcase our new young talent for our fans. The coaching staff for both teams has worked very hard in the offseason to bring in a new crop of fresh young talent,” said Becker.

The Stars Reserves had five players with any indoor soccer experience when they traveled to Bellingham last week. Doors open at 6 pm on Saturday at the Tacoma Soccer Center. Tickets are available here – STARS RESERVES TICKETS
