STARS REMAIN UNBEATEN AFTER FIVE GAMES, TOP WEST SEATTLE 5-2

TACOMA, WA. - The Stars (3-0-2) ran their unbeaten streak to five games to open the 2024 USL League Two season with a 5-2 win over West Seattle Junction FC (1-2-2) at Bellarmine Memorial Field Wednesday Night. West Seattle held a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute before the Stars put the game away with four unanswered goals.

Connor Tollan opened the scoring in the 11th for Tacoma and the Stars looked to be heading to halftime with a 1-0 lead until Jacen Stein found the back of the net for West Seattle in first half added time to level the match at the break.

It took just four minutes into the second half for Leon Tezuka to give West Seattle the 2-1 lead, and it was a lead which did not last long.

Three minutes later, Keegan Yorke brought the Stars even at 2-2 in the 52nd minute and Tacoma took control of the match from there.

Charlie Kosakoff, who came in as a sub in the 51st minute for Jeremy Opong, scored back-to-back goals in the 57th and 82nd minutes to give Tacoma a 4-2 lead as regulation time wound down.

Another 51st minute sub, Orlando Erazo capped the scoring with a goal for the Stars in the 89th minute to seal Tacoma's third victory of the season.

The Stars will play their next two matches on the road, including this Saturday at Memorial Stadium against Ballard FC before returning home to host United PDX on June 19 at 7:00 pm.
