STARS LOOK TO REBOUND SUNDAY VS ST. LOUIS

KENT, WA. - The Stars (1-2) and St. Louis Ambush (3-4) will complete their two-game weekend series Sunday evening at the accesso ShoWare Center. Round one went to the Ambush decisively, as St. Louis cruised to a 7-3 win Friday night. The win makes the Ambush 1-0 under interim head coach Jeff Locker.

The game Friday was seldom in doubt as St. Louis scored 31 seconds into the game and built a 3-0 lead before Tacoma scored. The Ambush was bolstered by the play of their keeper Josue Mazon, who won his second of the year and enters the game Sunday with a 2-3 record, 5.87 GAA, and .728 SV%.

The Stars’ Danny Waltman sits 1-2, 6.32 GAA, and .705 SV% through three games. Offensively, Nick Perera (4G-3A). Vini Dantas (3G-3A), and Jamael Cox (3G-2A0 top Tacoma’s scorers, though Alessandro Canale raised his goal total to four with a pair of markers Friday night.

For the Ambush, Mohamed Ndiaye (4G-9A) is within one point of the MASL lead in scoring. Vadim Cojocov (7G-2A), Ado Jahic (6G-1A), and JT Thomas (5G-2A) are tops in scoring. Cojocov led the Ambush in the win Friday with two goals and an assist.

Sunday’s game will complete the season series between the Stars and Ambush. Next up for Tacoma will be a home-and-home series with the Kansas City Comets beginning January 16 at accesso ShoWare Center, and ending January 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City.
