STARS HOST FLASH TONIGHT AT SHOWARE

Tacoma, WA. – The Tacoma Stars (4-7) welcome the Monterrey Flash (13-0) for their only visit to the accesso ShoWare Center this season on Friday night for Latino Heritage night. This is the only meeting of the season between these two clubs and the first since Monterrey’s 9-5 win in Mexico on April 7, 2019. The Flash lead the all-time series with Tacoma 3-0 which includes a 9-8 win last season in their only visit to the accesso ShoWare Center.


Monterrey enters the match as the only unbeaten team in the MASL this season, 8-0 on the road. The Flash are led offensively by Brayan Aguilar’s 27 points (20G-7) and Jorge Rios with 21 (13G-8A). Miguel Vaca (12G-5A), Hugo Puentes (11G-6A), and Edgar Flores (11G-6A) are all third on the team in scoring with 17 points. In all, the Flash have eight players with double-digit production this season. Flash goalkeeper Berna Valdovinos leads the MASL in wins with 10.

Setting the pace in scoring for the Stars is Nick Perera and his 27 points (13G-14A). Mike Ramos with 19 (14G-5A) and Alex Caceres with 16 (8G-8A) round out Tacoma’s top point producers. Caceres also ranks in the MASL top five in power play goals scored this season.

In goal for the teams, Tacoma’s Danny Waltman brings a 4-7 record, 6.15 goals against average, and .641 save percentage into the match. Monterrey has had a pair of netminders see action this season. Diego Reynoso (3-0, 2.57, and ,750) and Berna Valdovinos (10-0, 5.20, and .669) have started seven and six games respectively.
