STARS HOST COMETS SUNDAY

by Tony Roberts

The Tacoma Stars (2-2) will welcome the Kansas City Comets to the accesso ShoWare Center this Sunday to kick off a home-and-home series at 5:05 pm. The Comets are 6-0 so far this season, headed into their Friday game at St. Louis. Kansas City is the only remaining unbeaten team in the MASL and that is a situation the Stars rise to.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the Monterrey Flash visited with a 13-0 record on January 24, 2020, and left 13-1. Mike Ramos scored a power-play goal with 5:25 left in the 4th quarter for the game-winner.

The San Diego Sockers finished the 2018-19 season with a record of 23-1. That one loss came courtesy of the Stars, who topped the Sockers 5-4 at Pechanga Arena San Diego on December 22, 2018.

The Stars will be coming into the game looking to continue their scoring ways after dropping 15 goals on the Ambush last Sunday. Nick Perera set Stars individual game records for goals (6) and points (9). Alessandro Canale also recorded a hat-trick in the win.
