STARS FALL VICTIM TO FLASH 9-3 IN MONTERREY
MONTERREY, MEXICO - The Tacoma Stars (7-6-2) wrapped up a tough road week with a 9-3 loss to the still undefeated Monterrey Flash (16-0-0) at Arena Borregos Sunday evening.
Kyle Rivers opened the scoring for the Stars with 5:40 left in the 1st quarter but the Flash answered back just over a minute later and then took control of the game.
The Flash strung together six more goals after that and led the game 7-1 before Tacoma picked up their second goal with 11:49 to play in the 4th frame.
Tacoma knocked in one more goal to cut the Monterrey Flash advantage to four goals at 7-3 with 4:05 left to play. That was as close as the Stars would get however, as the final two goals of the game went to the home team who clinched the MASL Eastern Conference's first playoff spot of the season with their win.
The Stars will now return home for a pair of games against the Harrisburg Heat on March 1st and 3rd. Game times are 7:05 and 5:05 pm, respectively and tickets are available at www.tacomastars.showare.com.
