NICK PERERA NAMED TO WEEK 7 TEAM OF THE WEEK

TACOMA, WA. – The Tacoma Stars head-coach and leading scorer Nick Perera was named to the Major Arena Soccer League’s Week 7 Team of the Week as announced by the League on Wednesday. It is Perera’s second Team of the Week award this season. 

Perera picked up a goal and an assist in the team’s 9-8 loss to the Southwest Division leading Monterrey Flash on Friday night at the accesso ShoWare Center. His six-point effort on Saturday in the Stars’ 8-5 win over Ontario not only was instrumental in the victory, it vaulted Perera into the MASL’s leading scorer position. He racked up five assists to go with a goal against the Fury.

With his five assists, Perera also leads the MASL in that category with 16 on the season. Perera was also named to the Team of the Week in the first week of the season.
