TACOMA, WA. -  As the Stars begin to finalize their roster for the 2019-2020 MASL season, the team announced the contract extension of midfielder Mike Ramos. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not released.

Head Coach Nick Perera was enthusiastic about Ramos’ return: “Mike Ramos is an emotional leader for our organization. Last season he showed the potential to be one the league’s best, and with his commitment to improvement and excellence, the sky’s the limit for Mike. Trust me when I tell you that Mike Ramos will be an enormous factor for the Stars organization for years to come”.

Ramos had the best season of his professional career last year with the Stars when he racked up 45 points (27G-18A) during the regular season. He added an assist in two playoff games in Tacoma’s series with San Diego. In all, Ramos has appeared in 62 games for the Stars and has tallied 85 points (50G-35A) for a 1.37 points-per-game average.

Ramos, born in Spokane, began his collegiate career with the Walla Walla Community College Warriors before transferring to Seattle University. His best college year came with Whitworth University when he led the team with 12 goals and 10 assists in 21 games played.

Ramos’s career extends to Puerto Rico as well. In 2016 he suited up for the National team and picked up a goal in eight matches. The following year he played in for the North American Soccer League’s Puerto Rico FC.
