LYNDSEY PATTERSON NAMED TACOMA GALAXY HEAD COACH
TACOMA, WA. – The Tacoma Galaxy has named Puyallup Native and former Seattle Sounders Women standout, Lyndsey Patterson as the team’s head coach ahead of the USL-W 2026-27 season. Patterson will fill the role vacated when previous head coach, Alex Caceres was promoted to Director of Coaching.
Patterson arrives at the Galaxy with previous coaching stops with the USL-W League West Seattle Rhodies, University of Tennessee, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and PAC NW Soccer Club.
Following a playing career which saw Patterson start 88 of 91 games played for the Lady Vols at the University of Tennessee, the three-time All-SEC selection returned to Washington State and joined the Seattle Sounders Women for two seasons.
2007 and 2008 saw Patterson help guide the Atlanta Silverbacks to first-place finishes before returning to the West Coast.
In 2009, Patterson made an appearance in the WPS Championship game for the Los Angeles Sol.
After suiting up for the Philadelphia Independence, Atlanta Beat, and a third stint with the Sounders Women, Patterson signed with Seattle Reign FC for the inaugural NWSL season in 2013.
Patterson played for the Galaxy last season and will take the field, as well as coach the team for 2026-27.
She said, “I joined the Tacoma Galaxy last year on a whim because I missed playing soccer, and from the moment I stepped on the field I felt incredibly welcomed. I had such a blast playing with this group and being part of the club. Coming back this season to both play, help coach, and recruit was a no-brainer. I’m excited to help bring more talented players into this environment and give them the same great experience I had. I can’t wait to see what we can build together.”
The Galaxy will start the regular season on the road, visiting Bellingham United on December 5 and Snohomish Sky and December 12 before hosting FC Olympia on December 19 at the Tacoma Soccer Center.
