Tacoma, WA. – Stars defender, and the team’s third-leading scorer Alex Caceres was named to the Week 8 MASL Team of the Week following his four-point performance in Tacoma’s 7-4 win over Turlock last Friday. He tallied a pair of goals to go with two assisted on his way to being named the number one Star of the game.

Caceres, in his first year with Tacoma, currently trails only Nick Perera and Mike Ramos on the team in offensive output with 15 points on seven goals and eight assists. His three power play goals lead the team and place him third in the league in that category.

In Friday’s match, Caceres picked up an assist on Tacoma’s first goal of the game with 12:47 remaining in the second quarter which brought the Stars level with Turlock at 1-1. Caceres closed out scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal with 4:54 left to go in the second quarter giving the Stars a 3-1 lead heading to the locker room.

In the third quarter it was a Raphael Cox power play goal which Caceres assisted on and gave Tacoma a 5-3 advantage heading into the final frame. Tacoma’s final marker of the match was also the team’s second power play goal of the game and it was Caceres who found the back of the net giving the Stars a 7-3 lead with 10 minutes left on the clock.

The Stars continue their homestand on Saturday January 18 when they host the Ontario Fury at the accesso ShoWare Center. Game time is 7:05 pm and you can get your tickets at today!
